The scales
Three scales, one method
Each EPI-FS scale rates how closely a service matches the practice model its evidence base supports. A trained rater scores every item from a site visit, a chart review, and staff interviews.
FEPS-FS 1.1
First episode psychosis services
36
items, scored 1 to 5
CHRPS-FS
Clinical high risk for psychosis services
33
items, scored 1 to 5
FEPS-FS-BD
First episode bipolar disorder services
36
items, scored 1 to 5
One prior version, still in use
FEPS-FS 1.0 was published in 2021 and remains available for services already using it. It had 35 items. FEPS-FS 1.1 supersedes it, with a wider domain set and a stronger anchor grid.
